Who doesn’t love a wedding! Whether it’s catching a glimpse of a bride as she speeds past in a fancy car covered with white ribbons, or admiring a happy couple as they take romantic photographs. We have been lucky enough to get a front row seat to some stunning weddings here at the Dunstane Houses. This week however, we’re a few hundred miles away from what’s being called the wedding of the year.
An American divorcee has fought against tradition and won. Meghan Markle will marry Prince Harry at Windsor Castle on Saturday 19th May, and we have heard from local residents that they feel about this wedding the same way Edinburgh locals feel about the Festival. Very excited but also wondering how they’ll get to work through the mass tourist crowds! Regardless, the worlds media and a large percentage of the population will be watching, commenting and judging. Seeing if they guessed right about the design of the dress, which celebrities made it onto the guest list and generally using the wedding as an excuse for an afternoon glass of fizz…!
But the Windsors aren’t the only people celebrating this month. We have a royally good selection of offers to make you feel like a Prince(ss). Get a deal on two nights accommodation, with dinner, breakfast, a chauffeur driven tour and afternoon tea on the Royal Yacht Britannia with our Royal Treatment offer. Or take a walk in the footsteps of Scotland’s most famous monarch (and soon to be start of a Hollwood movie) Mary Queen of Scots. Our ‘tame’ Highlander, Andy, will take you on a fabulous tour as part of the Mary Queen of Scots Getaway, that also includes afternoon tea, accommodation and maybe a little sword fighting! Get in touch for more information and to book your royally good break.
