St Andrews Day

There’s no better day to be Scottish than 30 November. On St Andrew’s Day, the bagpipes play loud, the Saltire flies proud, and perhaps a little more whisky than usual finds its way out of the bottle. In Edinburgh, St Andrew’s Day is especially important, as it marks the beginning of the city’s Winter Festivals, a season of celebration that continues through Christmas and Hogmanay to Burns Night.

At the Dunstane Houses we mark our national day in suitably Scottish style, with an evening of song, feasting and, yes, a few drams of the good stuff. Join us in the Ba’ Bar on Friday 30 November for a celebration St Andy would be proud of, including:

  • A whisky or gin cocktail on arrival, soundtracked by our resident piper;
  • A three-course Scottish dinner of proper Cullen skink and Orkney steak pie and locally grown veg, ending with an indulgent Orkney fudge cheese cake;
  • An expert-led whisky tasting experience between courses;
  • Live music from a local folk band to see the night out.

Tickets are £49 a head, and places are limited, so if you fancy joining the Dunstane team as we raise a few glasses to the motherland, make sure you secure your place at the table.
