Experience the best The Dunstane Houses has to offer with our Ultimate Dunstane Night In.
It’s fair to say, no other age group loves Christmas more than children. So it’s lucky that Edinburgh is such a perfect place to get your little ones into the Christmas spirit! Drop your bags at The Dunstane Houses and head up to the heart of the winter wonderland…
Silent Adventures Edinburgh are running a Festive Silent Disco – not going to lie, we’re very excited for this one. Kicking off on the 24 November and running until the 23 December, the event promises to melt your inhibitions and believes “you’ll never look at Edinburgh, or yourselves, in the same way again!” after you’ve danced and sang your way around the city with their hi-tech headsets playing the best festive tunes. The event is for children over 5.
Santa Land at the Christmas Markets is the place to be! Fun Fair rides, a Christmas Tree maze, games, sweets and a Santa train. Once you’re in, prepare to be there for hours. Whizz down the helter-skelter, brave the rollercoaster or jump on the carousel, there are rides for everyone. Don’t get lost in the Christmas Tree maze though…and it’s advisable to book for the maze, and other attractions on the Edinburgh Christmas website, here.
Ah, the Panto. The best part of the run-up to Christmas. The top choices this year are Beauty and the beast, with Edinburgh Radio legend (and recent Outlander cameo-star!) Grant Stott or Wendy and Peter Pan at the Lyceum. A great day (or night) out for the whole family…oh yes it is!
No family Christmas break is complete without a visit to Santa himself! Santa and his elves is already hanging out on Castle Street, and will be until the 24 December, when he grabs his sleigh and starts delivering presents. Booking is required to meet Santa, and tickets are £8.50 per child and the first adults is free – he’s got to pay for his seligh parking somehow I guess!
There is something for all the family in Edinburgh this time of year. Take a look at some of our accommodation special offers and get your festive weekend away booked!
